This needs an update (Week 5)

This needs an update (Week 5)

I’m bad about updating because I never really know what to write here. If you see I haven’t updated in a bit then go check out the Weight Tracker page I had made, I keep that up to date weekly.

The plan is still going strong and I’m almost about to hit my 5% goal (15 pounds). That means that I will have lost 5% of my starting weight. Pretty awesome.

I’ve been steadily losing 2 pounds per week – as of Wednesday I have lost 12.8 pounds since I started. I’m hoping to lose 2.2 this upcoming week and hit the 15 pound mark on week 6. It’s slow and steady, but at least I’m seeing progress every week.

So there’s your update :)

Weight Loss Update (Week 2)

Weight Loss Update (Week 2)

Another quick update as I prepare to go to bed.

I had my official weigh in today and lost 1.2 pounds this past week. That puts me down 6.6 total pounds in 2 weeks (3.3 lb average).

Not the result I want, but a result none the less. I’m told Weight Watchers plan is designed to lose 1-2 lbs per week so this seems on par!

Wiikly Update

Wiikly Update

This was supposed to be a “Wiikend” update but I forgot to update Sunday night and last night and almost forgot tonight.

I just don’t really have much to say, I do have a couple recipe posts I need to get on the site though sometime this week. Maybe I’ll write those up tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow, that’s the big weigh in day. I’m pretty sure I’ve lost some weight this week (at least according to Wii Fit I have!) I doubt it’s going to be a big number like 5.4 pounds though, I’m hoping for 2-3 pounds.

I’ve done a great job again this week only using 1 of my flex points for the entire week. Here’s a breakdown of my points (I have 41 per day):

Friday: 36 points used
Saturday: 36 points
Sunday: 42 points (used 1 weekly point – Super Bowl snacking)
Monday: 36.5 points
Today: 35.5 points

Seems like I hover right around 36 points per day :) That’s about the equivalent of 1800 calories a day.

I’ll be updating this tomorrow as soon as I get the results in.

Week 2, Day 2

Week 2, Day 2

Pretty much just a quick update… I don’t really have much to add today other than my points for the day came to 33 out of my 41 – but I also gained back 2 activity points for working out with Wii Fit for 30 minutes, so the actual number is 31. And in yesterday’s post I forgot to update my points – yesterday I used up 40 of my 41.

Yeah, boring update. Maybe tomorrow I’ll have some time to write something more interesting. If you’re looking for interesting though make sure to check out my guest blog post.

I’m now a guest blogger

I’m now a guest blogger

My cousin Paula writes a blog called Boogers and Burps. She was off at a blogging conference and asked if I’d write a guest blog post… so I did. I think it turned out pretty well and it goes over a lot of background stuff some people might not have known about with my first attempt at this.

So go check it out, read it, and stay there for a while and read her other posts. It’s a pretty good blog about a mother of 3 boys.

I’m on my second honeymoon

I’m on my second honeymoon

Today was my first official weigh in and marks the end of the first week – the tally is in and I have lost 5.4 pounds this week!

Now that’s a couple pounds more than the suggested average to lose per week, but the first week is always pretty big I’ve been told.

The meeting we had today was actually kind of interesting to me because we talked about something that I just recently wrote for a guest blog that hasn’t been published yet. It was mainly about being positive and doing this for yourself. What was really interesting though was how our leader divided weight loss into 3 different possible stages.

1. The Honeymoon Stage – this stage your positive, keeping track every day and making sure your doing the right things. You’re telling everyone about your plan, you’re seeking information. The results you get back are amazing. Essentially this was all me during my first go around with weight loss 3 years ago.

2. The Thrill is Gone Stage – During this stage you’re getting disgruntled with the progress, you start cheating, you start making excuses for why you’re not doing the plan and the results you get back aren’t that great as a result. This is also exactly what happened to me after about 6 or 7 months the first go around.

3. The 2nd Honeymoon stage - this is the stage where you get out of the Thrill is Gone Stage. During this stage you start realizing that during the first stage is when you had the most results. You start realizing that if you want to succeed you need to do it for yourself. It’s like a 2nd wind – things go back to the honeymoon stage of positiveness earlier – but maybe with a deeper gratification of what you’re really trying to accomplish. This is exactly the stage I started just a week ago.

All in all I thought the meeting was a quite interesting take on why I was there this time around. I definitely think this new plan will work, mixing the Wii workout with a diet plan that is known to work, rather than just doing the Wii workout and kind of figuring out the diet as I went. Plus, this keeps me accountable each week with real proof from a good scale on what I am doing and if it’s working. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.

I think I know my problem

I think I know my problem

So I have now finished up 1 week of the plan and tomorrow evening will be the official weigh in to see how I did this week.

I used up 31 of my 41 points today and the number has been kind of low really all week. I went over once this week by 1 point (which I’m ok because I had flex points to spend) but every other day I’ve been way under.

I think I’ve realized my problem and it’s nothing to do with snacking on unhealthy food, because as I can tell by keeping track of my points I’m not much of a snacker. The reason why my points are so low is because I eat my meal and I’m done. I’ve been having to actually force myself to snack this week because I’m so under on my points because what I’m choosing to eat is low in calories for my meals.

That’s my problem, I haven’t been overeating. I haven’t been eating because I’m bored and snacking all the time. My problem has been making bad decisions on what I eat during my meals and it’s a lot of crap that I had been eating. Cheeseburgers, pizza, fried foods, BBQ, etc. I haven’t had any of that this past week (with the 1 exception of pizza). So it looks like in the meantime I need to learn how to eat again. When I make my current meals it’s a lot of food that are low calorie but I should add some other options with it. I’ve noticed I’ve been low in the fruit category so I’ll probably work on that a bit.

Anyway, tomorrow is the official weigh in for the first week and tomorrow will be the first day I start tracking activity points with the Wii.

Monday update

Monday update

Just a quick update for Monday that I didn’t get finished yesterday. Had to work from 9:30-11 PM last night and then realized I didn’t get my homework done for my class yet on Tuesday so was up till about 1 AM finishing that up. I started taking some college classes last year to finish up a computer science degree I strayed away from my first time through college – back then I changed to a major called Interactive Digital Media.

Anyway, this site is about weight loss and not my explorations in acadamia – I used up 35 of my 41 points yesterday and today I’ll probably do just fine as well. This means this week I only used up 1 of my flex weekly points :)

My first weigh in since starting is tomorrow and I’m really excited to see how much I’ve lost (if any). Tomorrow is also the day I’m going to try and be strict about drinking my 64 oz. of water per day as well as getting a 30 minute low intensity workout.

Wiikend Update

Wiikend Update

Weekends will always be hard for me to update regularly just for the fact those are normally the days I’m out doing stuff and don’t want to spend time writing blog posts :)

So, you can probably expect my normal late daily updates throughout the week – and then over the weekend I’ll probably lump up 2-3 days in one post.

I honestly don’t have a lot to say other than I weighed myself earlier today and appear to be down 5 pounds already – can’t wait to see what the official result will be Wednesday.

As far as points go – I used 36.5 on Saturday and 26.5 today (that’s what happens when I wake up late and don’t have breakfast and a light lunch). I still have 34 flex points available to me but doubt I even touch them.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Day three and already with the late updates

Day three and already with the late updates

So I completely didn’t get a chance to update last night. I spent about 2 and a half hours at Best Buy last night because I was buying a new TV, and the model I wanted they were out of stock on. So they spent a good amount of time checking other stores in the area and finally they found one an hour north of here with the model I wanted. So I’ll be picking that up today (it’s a Sony XBR9 52″ TV by the way) – but last night after I got home I was up until about 2 AM putting together the TV stand for it. Allen Wrenches can go die in a fire for all I care.

So anyway, nothing real special to add here, putting together that dang TV Stand was my activity of the day, haha. No Wii yesterday then. My diet wasn’t really healthy at all yesterday thanks to working over lunch and having our company provide us with pizza from Papa Johns. But I kept the slices I ate to a minimum, ate healthy the rest of the day and still only used up 37 of my allotted 41 points – So I still stayed under!

That’s really all that’s interesting – and tomorrow I can’t wait to play Wii on my new TV, it’s going to be pretty sweet.
